I have been working on this for weeks with no success. What is this? Is it possible to provide D-Link's ActiveX plug-in on my site? Where/how would I get it? How does one implement an ActiveX Control? When I go to the D-Link site & "view source", there is no code that I can copy for the ActiveX Control Install. ActiveX is a deprecated software framework created by Microsoft that adapts its earlier Component Object Model (COM) and Object Linking and Embedding (OLE) technologies for content downloaded from a network, particularly from the World Wide Web. If a user hasn't been to the D-Link site to download this ActiveX Control (which is basically everyone), then they can't see the camera! The sole purpose of the camera is to have it appear on a website. The problem is, I'm trying to display the camera on a public website using the code provided by D-Link. I already resolve it just by changing settings in the IE Options. At 1st, I encounter the 'Allow Blocked Content'. When you access the camera directly from the browser, (login is demo, no password), the D-Link site provides the following link, "Click here to install the following ActiveX control: 'MPEG4 SHM (Audio) Control' from 'D-Link Corporation'. I am currently trying to automatically click the 'Yes' button in the ActiveX prompt/popup message after opening the IE (html). When I go to the D-Link site & 'view source', there is no code that I can copy for the ActiveX Control Install.

Anyone can get a signed Active X control, just because it is signed does not mean it is a good control. I'm trying to display a D-Link DCS 5300 camera on a web site. If a user hasnt been to the D-Link site to download this ActiveX Control (which is basically everyone), then they cant see the camera The sole purpose of the camera is to have it appear on a website. Never blindly trust an ActiveX control just because its signed or looks trustworthy.
